"The Summer House of Normal People": What viewers can expect in the spin-off

Reality TV legends are now followed by the "normal people": On February 24, the spin-off "The Summer House of the Normal People" will be launched on RTL+ . Instead of the celebrities, couples who are still unknown to the public will move into the shared apartment in Bocholt-Barlo.

The concept

Eight couples are fighting for the first normal person to win the "Summer House". There is a prize money of 25,000 euros up for grabs. As usual, there are games and nominations on the way to winning. In the first clip, it becomes clear that popular "Summer House of the Stars" games are also waiting for the couples without VIP status. They have to ride bikes together, park, transport dice, balance at lofty heights, eat nasty treats or correctly arrange an empty shelf on a rotating platform. As with the celebrities, the challenges lead to heated discussions and arguments between the couples. In the house, there are outbursts of tears and mutual accusations.

In addition, things are also getting explosive among the candidates. Comments like "Who does she think she is?", "Shut up, boy," "If you can't handle that, then you're in the wrong place in the 'Summer House'" or "I want to get out of this madhouse, away from these disgusting people" give hope for successful reality TV entertainment. Eight episodes have been announced, and a new episode will be available on the streaming service every week.

The couples

Among those moving into the "Häuschen Miend" are aviation security assistant Marcel (24) and train attendant Lisa Sophie (23) from Frankfurt am Main, who have been a couple for two and a half years. According to RTL, jealousy plays a big role in their relationship, as do Marcel's heated emotions.

Plumber Hendrik (28) and his girlfriend Sophie (22), who works as a medical assistant, come from near Hanover. They have also been together for two and a half years and are a strong team despite Hendrik's jealousy and quick-tempered nature. The entrepreneur couple Marc (36) and Anna-Lucia (27) have been together since 2019, but have known each other for over nine years. They commute between Dubai and Wuppertal for their community platform. They describe themselves as strong-willed and not very receptive to criticism.

Office manager Sebi (30) and partner Viki (26), a business psychology student, from Osnabrück also want to win. They have been a couple since March 2022, and their relationship is characterized by jealousy and impulsive arguments. The ambitious accountant Maki (31) will move into the "summer house" with IT buyer Michelle (28). The couple from Essen have been together for four years, and Michelle would be happy to receive a proposal soon.

Richard (29) and Vanessa (28) from Neuenstadt am Kocher have been a couple for six years. The branch manager is sometimes jealous because of the social security employee's sociability. Sascha (36), a specialist in data logger management, and marketing manager Sandra (34) got married in August 2022. The couple from Isernhagen describe themselves as "spontaneous, polarizing and attractive". Federal Bank employee Manfred (60) and his wife Andrea (61), who works as a bank clerk, are the oldest couple in the season. They married in 2018 and live in Bremerhaven.
